PGA Shriners Childrens Open Best Bets Plus Top 20 Model Picks For DFS

We hit yet another PGA winner with Luke List coming through for us last week. The model has been excellent for the PGA.

The Shriners Children’s Open at the beautiful TPC Summerlin is next on the schedule. While this year's field might not have all the firepower of previous editions, there's still plenty to look forward to. The event has a special treat for fans, with LPGA star Lexi Thompson accepting a sponsor's invite to compete alongside the men, promising a unique showdown.

This week, we'll see a slightly smaller field of 132 golfers (compared to 144 last week), and the pressure is on. The low 65 and ties will make their way through the 36-hole cutline.

Let's take a closer look at the host venue, TPC Summerlin. This course has been a part of the event for decades, but has been the solo host since 2008. Designed by Bobby Weed with consultation from Fuzzy Zoeller, it offers a par 71 layout stretched over 7,255 yards. Don't let the yardage fool you, though – the altitude and firm conditions mean the course plays shorter than it seems. You'll find more approach shots in the 100-to-150-yard range compared to your average PGA Tour stop.

Off the tee, you'll have choices to make. As Webb Simpson once noted, this course demands strategy. It features doglegs, run-outs, and bunkers that require thoughtful navigation. On the other hand, golfers like Patrick Cantlay, who have a strong driver game, have thrived here as they gain more wedges and short iron opportunities. In essence, TPC Summerlin offers a balanced challenge, allowing both power hitters and strategic players to shine.

Regarding the turf, the fairways have been resurfaced with Bandera Bermuda, while the greens boast Dominator bentgrass. This change from the previous year's edition brings some consistency to the playing surface.

If you want insights into correlated success on the PGA Tour, consider courses like Sedgefield CC, PGA West, TPC River Highlands, Pebble Beach Pro-Am rota, and TPC Scottsdale. These courses share common characteristics of being located in the West, offering a scoring-friendly environment, and being relatively shorter in length. So get ready for the Shriners Children’s Open at TPC Summerlin – it's going to be a thrilling ride!

The model breakdown for this course is as follows
Driving Distance 24%
Putting 19%
Driving Accuracy 15%
Around The Green 15%
Approach 27%

Since the model was updated before the PGA Championships, it has returned a 64.5% ROI.

The emphasis is on the last 24 rounds the golfer has played. These are the best values, not necessarily the best golfers this week. As always, I play these bets to win 1 unit. It limits your risk, which is what we want to do on longshot futures types of bets.
